AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): Huge numbers of shopkeepers were fined for keeping polythene bags inside their shops at Agartala on Friday.
A special drive was launched today at Agartala Gol Bazar area led by Pollution Control Board, West PS and West Dist administration.
From maximum shops polythene bags were seized by police, whereas most of the shop-keepers till day didn’t feel it as a crime to use polythene bags.
Strict warnings have been given to all shop-keeper not to use polythene bags anymore.
A plastic bag, polybag, or pouch is a type of container made of thin, flexible, plastic film, nonwoven fabric, or plastic textile, which have been banned in various states of India including Tripura. But it has been widely used by sellers and buyers both.
