AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): CPI-M’s wing 'Left Kishan & Agriculture workers Union’ under Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union, has asked the BJP led state govt to provide 200 days MGNREGA works and Rs. 340 of wages to the MGNREGA workers.
“Two months almost have gone that the BJP Govt is in power but the poor people are waiting for MGNREGA works. As you promised before the election that there will be 200 days of mandays under MGNREGA, so fulfill that part. Also the minimum wage which you said will be at least Rs. 340 should be introduced now”, the Khet Mazdoor Union President Narayan Kar told the BJP Govt via media.
The union also asked the govt to buy crops from the farmers and save the farmers from poverty.
“Before election, you promised that the govt will buy the crops from farmers with high rates. So, time is running out but the farmers are in wait. We hope the BJP Govt will take necessary action to save the farmers, or we will go in massive protest in coming days”, they said.
