AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): Feminist writer Taslima Nasreen has slammed Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb following his controversial remark regarding Diana Hayden, crediting herself as better than Biplab Deb in Hindi than him.

In a tweet Nasreen said, “Probably Biplab Deb prefers Aishwarya to Diana because Aishwarya's skin colour is lighter than Diana's. BTW, I speak better Hindi than he does”.

The issue was raised when on April 26, in a ‘Design Workshop’ when Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said, “1997’s Miss World Diana Hayden was Unworthy to be Miss World”.

Biplab Deb had disqualified Diana Hayden as Indian Beauty saying, “Real Indian beauty should be like Laxmi, Saraswai, but in Diana Hayden I can’t observe any of them”.

“Aishwarya Rai is okay as she somewhere can represent Indian beauty. But in my opinion Diana Hayden can’t represent Indian beauty”, he said.

Reacting  over his statement, 2000 Miss Asia Pacific Dia Mirza said, ‘What can one say of a man who claims Internet existed in ancient India?’

Diana Hayden herself came before media, saying, "I am extremely upset with Tripura CM's remark who targeted my brown skin".
