AGARTALA, April 10 (TIWN): With an increased emphasis on Northeast, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Ministry of DoNER has placed a special focus to explore the diverse avenues of bamboo resources for generating revenue, employment and economic upliftment.
According to the NITI-forum's decision, 5 missions were placed as objectives of Northeast Development and they are :
1) Horticulture,
2) Tourism,
3) Bamboo production,
4) Made-in-Northeast (along with skill development).
5) Food processing.
"Amendment in 1927 Indian Forest Act for Bamboo, Special Road Development Scheme, Northeast Industrial Development Scheme, 100% Central funding of NE projects, NE Tourism Development Council etc are among landmark decisions taken by the Narendra Modi Govt", DoNER Minister said in a tweet following the meeting.
