'Union Govt has initiated several new programmes for Northeastern in the area of science' : Modi

AGARTALA / IMPHAL, March 16 (TIWN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today while addressing at the inaugural session of 105th Indian Science Congress at Manipur University in Imphal, said, "Union Govt has initiated several new programmes for Northeastern states in the area of science".
"Agro-meteorological services are being provided under Gramin-Krishi-Mousam-Seva. This is benefiting over 5 lakhs farmers and we are now working to expand this network across Northeastern Districts", said Modi.
"Sever such projects are bringing in Northeast for the developments under science and technology", Modi added.
"State climate centres have been set up in 7 Northeastern states, which will undertake risk analysis and public awareness", he said.
