BELONIA, March 11 (TIWN): CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury along with Manik Sarkar, Badal Choudhury has visited Belonia College Square today in the Southern Tripura to check the pulled down Lenin's statue at there.

Sitaram Yechury who is in Tripura since yesterday is visiting various spots where CPI-M has alleged violence led by BJP, RSS.

The statue of Lenin was bulldozed on March 5 after BJP won the election by mob. The mob wearing BJP's attires were screaming "Bharat Mata Ki Jay" while pulling down the statue of Lenin. 

A video became viral of the incident and for a long time has shaken the whole nation. Following the incident various other statues including Shyma Prasad Mukharjee was vandalized at West Bengal whereas in UP Dr B R Ambedkar's statue was broken.

 BJP chief Amit Shah today opened up on the statue vandalizing row ongoing across India terming it an "extremely unfortunate" and also assured that any party member found involved in destroying a statue will face severe action.

Tripura BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar said, "It shouldn't be done", whereas PM Modi has also condemned the idol vandalizing row.
