Security forces on Wednesday recovered the body of a Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, identified as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, along with war-like stores during a search operation in the Palmaidan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The operation, code-named Operation KORAG, was launched in the Yousmarg area following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists. A joint team of the Army and other security agencies began a search operation after troops detected suspicious movement in the area.
According to security officials, when the suspected terrorists were challenged, they opened fire on the security forces, triggering an exchange of gunfire. During the operation, Hashim Moosa was neutralised, officials said.
The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps confirmed the recovery of the terrorist's body and war-like stores in a post on social media.
“During the search early morning in General Area Palmaidan, body of Pak based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, identified as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa recovered along with war like stores,” the Chinar Corps said.
