AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): Acting on a tip off, Jirania police recovered 250 kg dry cannabis from a truck while being smuggled.

Based on secret information, Jirania Police detained a truck from Sadhupara National Highway checkpoint and recovered a huge amount of dry cannabis weighing 250Kg. The cannabis was being smuggled under a packet of Bangladesh edible oil, said a police official.

The driver and the Co-driver, Devendra Singh and Dasarath Kumar were arrested for being involved with smuggling. The detained truck registered No.- HP2 A1319 and police registered a case against the two smugglers.
