AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): The statue of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be unveiled on December 25 with the presence of Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman, other MLAs, and dignitaries. Chief Minister of the state is also invited on that day. Amid all preparations, Biplab Kumar Deb’s government allegedly has forced the Medical Superintendent of the hospital for allowing Barman to place the former Prime Minister’s statue before the hospital and forced him to file an FIR against Barman before one day of the event. MLA Sudip Roy Barman also has raised finger at CM Biplab Deb's role behind the incident.
On Dec 24, MS Goutam Majumder filed FIR in NCC outpost against Barman stating that no one in the premise knew about Vajpayee’s statue installation and when Gautam noticed the construction, he informed the matter to the higher authority but no one took action against the MLA.
However, while serving as health minister, when Barman declared to rename Tripura’s Regional Cancer Centre as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cancer Centre the decision for statue installation was taken. Other dignitaries were also present there.
