AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): Continuous attacks on the fourth pillar of democracy is going on in unstoppable manner under BJP regime in Tripura.

In another heinous incident on yesterday night at the capital  city Agartala after the end of  an auspicious festival at the Dasami Ghat a news Editor was attempted to be murdered by mafias, whereas so far no arrest was held.

Reportedly, at around 10.30pm, a notorious mafia, Bappa Nandi with his goons attacked in the house of Sourajit Pal, owner of “News Today”.

The team of News Today have mentioned in their statement, that the whole incident happened in the presence of Sahadeb Bhowmick, OC, Battala PS. They also have mentioned that the miscreants attacked Sourajit Pal by a knife and robbed the gold chain of Sourajit Pal with some cash by heading a revolver on his chest.

After the incident, some local people have rescued him in a serious position and admitted him in IGM Hospital. And on 10th October, they have transferred him in ILS Hospital for better treatment.

The media house’s press release stated that they already have filed an FIR against the miscreants but no one is arrested yet.

They also said that if the police fail to arrest the miscreants, the “News Today” team will go for a democratic agitation.

Such attacks are reported often on media houses, but the government is allegedly not taking any effective step to reduce it so far.
