A devastating crash of a Made-in-China F-7 aircraft on a school building in Dhaka's Uttara neighborhood has claimed the lives of at least 19 people. The incident occurred around 1 pm local time at the Milestone School and College campus, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in its wake.
Eyewitnesses describe the scene as horrific, with television footage showing fire and smoke billowing from the site. The Bangladesh Army has confirmed that the downed aircraft belonged to the Air Force.
Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar, who was flying the F-7 aircraft, survived the crash but is critically injured. He is currently being treated in the ICU of Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The injured, mostly students, have been rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Rescue operations are ongoing, with authorities working to identify the victims.
