AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Locals from Singhagarh Colony area of Chankap Gram Panchayat of Kamalpur subdivision blocked road over drinking water crisis.

The area falls within the Durga Chaumuhani-Ambassa road of the subdivision. The people of the area have been facing a water crisis for about 10 days. A pump machine was installed during the previous government but the pump machine often breaks down and the water supply is disrupted due to lack of maintenance.

According to the locals, they also locked the machine room for the same problem a few months ago but no permanent solution was made. 

However, upon receiving the news of the blockade, the Kachuchhara police rushed to the spot. Later, DWS officers of the Salema division assured the locals to solve the crisis immediately and the blockade was lifted.
