Wellington, March 7 (TIWN) A day after three massive temblors jolted New Zealand, an aftershock measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the North Island on Saturday, according to GeoNet NZ.
This was the largest aftershock following the three consecutive strong quakes on Friday, reports Xinhua news agency. Thousands of locals reported they felt Saturday’s quake which struck at 1.16 p.m., 140 km east of Te Araroa at a depth of 33 km.
