Islamabad/New Delhi, Aug 17 (TIWN) While Prime Minister Imran Khan is cosying up to Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the expense of infuriating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, powerful Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has rushed to placate Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who has withheld loans that Pakistan needs for its ailing economy.
Sources in Islamabad told IANS that Gen Bajwa is visiting Riyadh to do the balancing act after Pakistan's recent threats to split the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its diplomatic shift towards Erdogan who nurtures the ambition of replacing Saudi Arabia as the leader of Sunni Islamic nations.
