Rajdhani express to touch Agartala if plan goes well

AGARTALA, August 23 (TIWN): Will Agartala- Delhi Rajhdhani express arrives in 2015’s April? The question remains unresolved. But Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is embarking into the plan to connect Agartala with Delhi little more than a day by Rajdhani if plan progresses right, then there it is confirm. A top official of NFR informs that works progresses for setting up of broad-gage upto Agartala will be going to complete within 2015. Immediately after gauge conversion Agartala-Delhi Rajdhani express will soon start operation. However, public relation officer of NF Railway Sanjoy Lahiri neither deny the proposition nor accepted the plan.

He said broad gauge conversion work is going to be completed as scheduled. Meanwhile, the sources informed Agartala- Delhi Rajdhani express will stop five stations. Starting from Guwahati Rajdhani express will stop at Lower Halflong, Badarpur, Karimganj, Dharmanagar and Ambassa. 

On way to Delhi it will crosses via New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Patna, and Gorakhpur.  He asserted that the distance between Agartala to Guwahati will be reduced to 77 KM and the distance between Agartala to Lumbding will also be reduced to 61 KM. And the express will reach Delhi within 35 hrs. But the express will not cross 15 stations including Lumbding covering all important stations too.

It added that after the inauguration the express will stop running for one month. It is mentioned that according to the law after introduction of a new railway line Rajdhani will continue journey after 90 days. The express will be planned to run two days in a week. But during the first journey local passengers will not be given ticket. 

As far as distance is concerned, Agartala-Delhi Rajdhani route will be the longest running route ever in India.
