AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): Roars of criticism is now across Tripura after CPI-M had forgotten to observe the 13th death anniversary of Nripen Chakraborty, the Godfather of the present Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. Across TV channels, newspapers, social media debates have been continued after Nripen Chakraborty's grandson had condemned CPI-M's attitude towards comrade Nripen Chakraborty. Yesterday, after Trinamool party had remembered Nripen Chakraborty, in the evening BJP State President Biplab also calling media and expressed his shocks on CPI-M's attitude. However, 1950 Nripen Chakraborty was sent to Tripura by the party, when CPI-M was at zero level's stage here. Just like what is Sunil Deodhar for Tripura BJP, Nripen Chakraborty was infact more than that. In this situation, question raises, how Manik Sarkar has forgotten his Godfather ??
The present chief minister also does not mention about Nripen Chakraborty for a single time while delivering his speech in CPI-M rallies.
With more funny scenario, when CPI-M is facing strong criticisms for forgetting Nripen Chakraborty, today CPI-M has remembered Chinese poet and revolutionary Mao Zedong today at Melarmath Party Office on his birth anniversary, but unfortunately the same Communist Party didn't observe the death anniversary of Nripen Chakraborty, the most honest and first CPI-M's strongest leader and also the first Chief Minister of CPI-M in Tripura. Bijan Dhar, the state party secretary of CPI-M and others have given tributes to Mao Zedong at the party Head Quarter today morning.
Noteworthy, Nripen Chakraborty was the 1st Chief Minister from CPI-M in ripura and till day he is remarked as the best Chief Minister of Tripura. No opposition leader could also deny that he was the best CM of Tripura.
He was born at Bikrampur in Dhaka Dist of Bengal province of British India (present-day Bangladesh). He was the ninth child of Rajkumar and Uttamsunadari Chakraborty. He passed the entrance examination from Outsahi High School in 1925. He left his studies in Dhaka University to join the Indian freedom movement. In 1931, he took part in the civil disobedience movement. He joined the Communist Party of India in 1934.
He was elected secretary of the Bengal unit of the party in 1937. In 1950, he was sent to Tripura by the party, and became an important organizer there, but the ending was tragic. Chakraborty was insulted for long 9 years by CPI-M and later suspended, when he raised voice against some party scams.
