AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Whereas CPI-M has bluffed at the BJP proposed President’s rule in Tripura saying BJP ruled states are undergoing actual lawless condition, opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath’s data says something else. MLA Ratan Lal Nath claimed, “As per Govt given data, per month atleast 100 people’s names are registered under missing diaries and 110 unnatural deaths are reported. The data is given by Tripura Govt itself in the Assembly”. “In 2015 total 942 persons had been missing whereas in 2016 the number was 1260. Where have they gone ? Have they died ? Or sent to other countries illegally or murdered ?”, said Nath. About the unnatural deaths, Ratan Lal Nath said, “2015 total 740, in 2016 total 673 persons either committed suicide or died unnatural death. Isn’t it failure of govt ?” After a BJP activist was shotdead at Atharobla yesterday, Tripura BJP had demanded Presidential rule. The BJPs also met the Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy raising demands for President's rule in the state.

Addressing a press meet, BJP topmost leader Jishnu Dev Varma said, “Today, nothing has remained in Tripura as called law and order. From 4th pillar of democracy to common men all are victims of CPI-M’s terror. Women are not safe here, public are killed, kidnapping are going on everyday. So, we demand President's rule”.

“BJP demands President's rule for the interest of people, for the welfare of people and for security of citizens till election”, said Varma.

“Where is Democracy today ? Press people are attacked, attacks are held upon opposition people. So, for a free and fair election, we demand Presidential rule in Tripura”, added Varma.

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) state Secretary Bijan Dhar termed the BJP's demand "nasty, undemocratic and unfounded".

"Such demand shows BJP's frustration and they get a sense that they would suffer a great jolt in the next assembly elections in the state," said Dhar, a CPI-M central committee member.

Another CPI-M central committee member Gautam Das said that BJP lost the elections even before the polls and that is why they are raising such demand.

But when crime records are denied by the ruling party but the reality is something else, is exposed in opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath’s statement.
