AGARTALA, Nov 23 (TIWN): Opposition BJP has blocked the main entrance of Secretariat as a part of strike-observation and to succeed 'Tripura Bandh' which was called after state's senor journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik was killed by TSR Officials in the 2nd Bn HQ. In the 1st ever strike called by state BJP in Tripura as a part of protest against series of journalist-killing, the party has received huge response from the common people. Since the morning from transport to all markets were found gloom and public’s participation in BJP called strike have proven as ‘condemnation’ to Manik Sarkar’s anarchy which are killing innocent people everyday.

On Nov 21, Tripura's veteran jouranlist Sudip Datta Bhaumik was murdered in the TSR 2nd Bn office at R K Nagar and the commandant Tapan Debbarma and his body guard have been arrested in the connection. This incident triggered various protests across the nation and state journalists burnt their 'press-jackets' as in last 2 months 2 journalists were killed in Tripura.  When across the state uproars, protests are going on by BJP, State Observer of BJP Sunil Deodhar, State President Biplab Deb and other BJP activists rushed to the Secretariat and blocked the main gate at there. No official, Ministers were allowed to enter in through the main entrance.

The BJPs also raised slogans of 'Manik Sarkar Hai, Hai...' at the main entrance, causing a major faceloss for ruling CPI-M.

Reacting over the murder of Sudip Datta Bahumik, Sunil Deodhar said, “Democracy has been shadowed after yesterday’s incident. It was not only an attack upon Freedom of Speech, but in whole world such incident didn’t happen that state military force has killed a journalist. Under Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar the 4th pillar of democracy has been fully collapsed".

"Everybody knows that Tapan Debbarma, who is a corrupt official is very closed to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. Against Tapan Debbarma some write-ups came in media, written by Sudip Datta Bhaumik and to take revenge Tapan Debbarma called Sudip Datta Bhaumik at his room and killed him. All evidences of Tapan Debbarma's direct involvement in the murder were available in Tapan Debbarma’s room".

"Blood spots were found in his room and also the burnt articles were recovered from there. Sudip Datta Bhaumik's dead body was stretched out of his room after murder and those blood spots were also visible”.

“We don’t have any trust on Tripura Police’s investigation. Neither CID, nor SIT we only demand CBI inquiry, otherwise no justice will be possible”, added Deodhar.

“The 4th Pillar of democracy is now fully collapsed. Manik Sarkar should resign right now and face the election. After yesterday’s incident Manik Sarkar has lost his right to be seated on CM’s chair”, said Deodhar.

“3 media persons were killed in Ganadoot office, but who killed them till day police couldn’t find out. No development in Santanu murder case and Jiten Das like criminals are released who chopped his wife. Whenever CPI-M is involved in the murder or CPI-M sponsored murder is held then through SIT and Fast Track  court the criminals are acquitted. Same, should not happen in Sudip Datta Bhaumik’s murder case. So, we demand CBI investigation both in Sudip Datta Bhaumik and santanu Bhaumik’s murder case", said Deodhar before 1 day of the strike.
