AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): Till day everyone knew that Tripura Govt has always been against the SSA's Hunger Strikers and its only one support-system was actively engaged to save the state govt’s face named TCGEA. During 7 day long hunger strike led by SSA teachers (from Aug-1 to 7), Tripura Education Minister not for a single time met the teachers, even after maximum teachers were hospitalized. Moreover, calling a press conference Tapan Chakraborty clearly said that regularization is not possible and no state had regularized the SSAs. Not only this, Chakraborty asked, “Why don’t the SSAs ask the Central Govt to regularize them ?â€
'Recently when SSA Teachers began work-strike from Nov-13 demanding regularization, Tripura Govt’s letter which was leaked anyhow, it said that all HMs and other Education Officers were instructed to stop the protest or ‘it will be taken seriously’.
However, on 15th November MHRD sent a letter to all the State Govts with SSA teachers' regularization instructions under the state govt.
After that yesterday all the media channels had covered the news praising MHRD, but suddenly from the ‘sky’ a letter was spread through internet which says Tapan Chakraborty told HRD Minister Prakash Yadavkar to look after Tripura SSAs, who are suffering in hunger strike and the letter was with August 7’s dateline, the last day of hunger strike.
This letter is totally unbelievable as the hunger strike was withdrawn after talking to the Governor Tathagata Roy and Tripura University Ex-Vice Chancellor Arunodoy Saha had given water to the hunger strikers and thus the strike was withdrawn. Not only this, CPI-M’s mouthpiece ‘Daily Deser Katha’ gave a false news on Aug-8 with title of "7 day long Hunger Strike's Drama Ended !” The news said that BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha, Governor Tathagata Roy met the SSA Teachers during withdrawal of the strike.
After that level of enmities with the SSAs, how public will believe this letter was written by Tapan Chakraborty and sent to HRD Minister on August – 7 and this “Great Work” of the CPI-M Minister was kept hidden by the party itself ?
If Chakraborty wrote this letter, it had been fully advertized to gain teachers' sympathy alleging, central govt is not regularizing them. However, SSA teachers who are in work strike will not withdraw their strike unless, their demands are fulfilled, especially when MHRD instructed all the states to regularize the SSAs.
