AGARTALA, August 16 (TIWN): The HGB leaders of Tripura Government Teachers’ Association (TGTA) cancelled the transfer of 23 teachers to ADC out of 56 transferred teachers throwing a challenge to the decision of School Education Department and proved that their decision is the last decision in state’s education system.
The leaders changed the department’s order regarding transfer. 12 teachers out of 23 were not transferred from their previous schools and the rest 11 were transferred to nearby schools rather than ADC. Hence, the ADC schools have been suffering from dearth of teachers as those were earlier. The ADC officials are playing the role of mute spectator due to dearth of teachers.
Soon after the School Education Department issued the transfer order of 56 Science teachers ahead of Panchayat election, the HGB leaders got active to stop the transfers. They enlisted a few names of their choice and sent the file to the higher authorities.
They remained silent till the completion of Panchayat poll. But after the completion of poll procedure, the department higher ups have to make changes in the transfer list under the pressure of HGB leaders. Out of 56 transferred teachers, only 10 teachers newly joined in the ADC schools, said official sources.
On the contrary, the Education Department of ADC is totally ignorant of the cancellation of transfers. Only they know is how many teachers joined in ADC schools. The HGB leaders performed the activity from behind the curtains. Questions were raised, how will the assurance to give 300 teachers in ADC schools be fulfilled?
