Udaipur : 2 convicted in IPC case

UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, Oct 26 (TIWN): The Ld. J.M 1st Class Court No. 03 Udaipur, Gomati District, has convicted 02 (Two) accused persons namely (1) Ramu Das(24) S/O Sri Mati Lal Das (2) Subrata Debnath (24) S/O Lt. Keshab Debnath both of Chanban Near Loknath Ashram, PS R.K.Pur, under Gomati District, U/S- 506/34 IPC.

On 07-06-2014, R.K.Pur PS Case No. 2014RKP128 U/S- 353/120(B) IPC, was registered on basis of written complaint of Constable No. T/3901 Ratan Sarkar of R.K.Pur Traffic Unit, against the accused persons namely (1) Ramu Das (24) S/O Sri Mati Lal Das and (2) Subrata Debnath (24) S/O Lt. Keshab Debnath both of Chanban Near Loknath Ashram, under PS R.K.Pur, District Gomati. The complaint was to the effect that on 07-06-2017 around evening while the Constable along with others were discharging their Govt. duties of regulation of Traffic at Ramesh Chowmohani then both the accused violated Traffic signal and turned violent and used criminal force to the on duty Traffic Constable. However, the Constable with the help of other staff managed to apprehend those accused. 

During investigation on the weight of evidence I.O of the case arrested both the accused and forwarded them to the Ld. Court. On completion of investigation considering evidence charge-sheet was filed by SI Biswajit Das, I.O of the case on 31-07-2014, against both the accused Vide R.K.Pur  PS Charge-Sheet No. 107/2014 U/S- 353/120(B) IPC.

The trial Court on appreciation of evidence found both the accused persons namely (1) Ramu Das & (2) Subrata Debnath is guilty U/S 506/34 IPC and giving benefit of section 3 of Probation of Offenders Act instead of sentencing them, the trial court released them on bond after due admonition on probation of good conduct for next 06 (Six) months.
