AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): With another jolt, Tripura opposition MLA Ratan lal Nath has exposed, how amidst boosting about around 100 % literacy by the CPI-M Govt, Tripura's actual Educated people's percentage is stuck at 16 % only. The Congress said, "Intentionally a fake educational map of Tripura is shown in hybrid manner whereas the reality is just pathetic. As per the norms, by literacy it's meant only who can sign his / her name. By Educated one should mean atleast Madhyamik passed and to reach the level of quality education the person must has to get degree".
"As per the last Assemble data, the educated people's number is 6,27,555 which is only 16 % of the whole literacy rate", Nath added.
"Another matter of concern is SC educated are only 9 % and ST is stuck at 6 %", said Nath. Nath also claimed that the degree holders numbers are less than 1 % in Tripura.
"Tripura CPI-M Govt is trying to show the literate people as Educated, who just can write their names. The CPI-Ms know very well that educated people will not vote for them and that's the reason the Govt has kept the generation deprive of education's scope", Nath added.
However, how many people actually can sign their own names even it's also under question as on Wednesday it was exposed that maximum ASHA workers in Tripura can not sign their names also. ASHA facilitators (upper post of ASHA workers) exposing the State Govt said, "There are some ASHAs who are uneducated fully. So, we have to help them always. For their salary applications also, we are helping them even with giving their signatures by our hands as they can not write their names even".
But outside world knows that Tripura is leading with a literacy rate of 87.22% as per 2011 census and now the govt has claimed about 97 % literacy rate. However, in such a level of literacy rate, how in Assembly data (given by Tripura Govt itself) the Madhyamik / 12 passed peoples revealed with only 16 %, it has created shock-waves after Ratan lal Nath's claims.
