AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Mass corruption and utter lies from Manik Sarkar's CPI-M Govt pushing Tripura's future to peril. When generic medicine cares in hospital premises have failed to help the poor, Tripura Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha is talking far from the ground reality. On Ayurveda Day, state Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said, "Till day under the Central Govts no free health service could be possible either its Allopathic, Ayurvedic or its Homeopathic. This should be 100 % free of cost, atleast for the poor people". "We Tripura Govt had started to refer all the critical patients to others states hospitals at free of cost. Now we are thinking to send others also, who do not have any Govt job and income is limited with 1.5 lakhs", Saha added. "Poor families till day are deprived of free medical care. Although Ayush is reviving now but what about the medicine's costs?", said the Minister.

However, Minister's comments was far from the ground reality as now a day poor families are taking their critical patients at Silchar at their own expense. Sometimes patients are returned after recovery but many die at Silchar.

When Ministers are boosting about Tripura Govt's free medical care on the other side Generic medicine cares' customers are suffering due to unavailability of medicines, whereas across the hospital zone the same medicines are sold at high price.

The highest sufferers due to such attitudes of the Doctors are those patients who need multiple medicines per day, whereas via Generic Medicine Centre such patients can buy medicines at very cheap price.

But hardly any doctor even in the govt hospital prescribes generic medicine for the patients, rather they send the patients to some particular shops to buy medicine, in exchange of commissions received from those shops, just as the doctors do with blood test, sugar test etc.

About Ayush treatment, the Minister said, "Before modern medicine was discovered, Ayurveda was the only means for treatment.  Then with modern therapy came the Ayush treatment had been downed. However, now again the Ayush is reviving, but expenses are still high".
