AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Frustration has gripped CPI-M Ministers after Rajdhani Express has reached Agartala Railway Station and to announced to begin its maiden journey either from Sunday or from Oct 19 (Official Schedule not yet Announced) towards New Delhi. Rajdhani Express has been received by passengers here as a part of Diwali-Gift as Oct-19 will also mark Diwali along with the Historical first journey of the much awaited Rajdhani. Talking to TIWN, Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey on Saturday highly objected to credit the Modi-Govt regarding Rajdhani's arrival in Tripura. "Rajdhani was CPI-M Govt's demand which even after promising by the former Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu it took above 1 year to reach here", said Minister. TIWN further asked Manik Dey, "What about the 70 years of delay to the Rajdhani Express ?" Dey said, "It was due to lack of attitude of the Central Govts. But even though the present Govt has started Rajdhani, we have to see first what facility it gives".

"It needs to be seen that per week how many days the Rajdhani gives the service. Then facility and safety and most importantly the fares will have to keep in mind. If flight fares and train fares are same, then what is the necessity of Rajdhani train?", said Dey.

Manik Dey further became angry when asked to comment which Govt has proven as better at Centre : UPA or NDA ? "What kind of Comparison is this ? What logic is this ", Manik Dey told TIWN.

The Rajdhani express has already arrived at Agartala Railway Station on Saturday 3.30 AM.

During Tripura Sundari express's inauguration on July-31st, 2016, the then Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu promised that Tripura to get Rajdhani Express soon. Although Prabhu wanted the Rajdhani's function in Tripura within one month but due to safety issues it has been slightly delayed but now only few days left when passenger service of Rajdhani to begin, most likely from the day of Diwali.
