MADHUPUR, Oct 3 (TIWN): Demand has raised for transfer of Madhupur PS’s O/C Prasant Kumar Dey after he allegedly broke one local's hand.

However, police alleged that his drive is against liquor and drug smuggling and whenever police try to stop such activities, police are attacked heavily.

Local people then locked  O/C-Prasant Kumar Dey and 2 more police officials inside the PS and later when SDPO Prabir Pal assured about proper investigation then they were released.

When local people were arranging for the idol immersion of Devi Durga at Ananda Chowmuhani of Madhupur then police raided various houses which fueled the locals with anger.

One local Biswajit Debbarma (28) was allegedly going with liquor bottles.  When police inquired him about it, Biswajit Debbarma attacked upon police and in a clash both police and the local man were injured.

Biswajit Debbarma allegedly got injury in his left hand.

With all these, locals gheraoed the police station for hours. Before a week also the locals had gheraoed the police station, issuing police's increasing drug-trafficking led by OC Prasant Kumar Dey.

However, a source said that talks about OC Prasant Kumar Dey's transfer is going on under the home ministry's dept.

Question raises, who is actual culprit. If police is harassing locals, locals are also not "too innocent".
