AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Tripura journalists have agitated in demand of CBI investigation in journalist Santanu murder case, who was killed in a political clash at Mandai fueled by CPI-M's tribal wing GMP and another separatist tribal party IPFT.

After 12 days of Santanu murder only 3 persons have been arrested so far, whether the brutal murder took place in front of hundreds people.

Around 100 of journalists agitated in front of Gandhi statue at Gandhighat demanding CBI probe in Santanu murder case. The protest in front of Gandhi statue is also symbolic as it has marked the Gandhi-Jayanti.

However, till day Chief Minister Manik Sarkar didn't meet the journalists and heard about the journalists' demands, whereas state govt has constituted a SIT in Santnau murder case led by 5 police officials.

The agitators said while protesting at Circuit house's Gandhighat, "Police themselves are accused in Santnau's murder case. Even Mandai hospital has ambulance but no ambulance was  asked for Santnau and after 3/ 4 hours his body had come in GB hospital in police vehicle but his body was kept mercilessly in the vehicle, where police keep their feet. Whereas Santanu was  already dead when he was brought at GB but police kept on saying he has been injured. Due to all these confusions, we demand CBI probe in Santanu's murder case. Govt can ask the investigation through HC or SC, we do not have any objection with that but CBI investigation is must".

The 28 years journalist who was working in various TV channels died on Sep-20 while covering CPI-M / IPFT clash at Mandai.
