AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Refuting Manik Sarkar Govt's wrongdoings over rejecting CBI investigation in Journalist Santanu Bhaumik murder case, 11 Journalist Unions, media outlets united to hold a protest march front of Gandhi Statue near Circuit House at Agartala. Earlier after Santanu's murder on Sept 20, Tripura journalists have demanded CBI investigation in Santanu Bhowmik's murder case, who was brutally killed at Mandai in a political clash among CPI-M and IPFT.

Instead of impartial CBI investigation, Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt chosen to handover case to State Police which is primarily responsible for Santanu's death. 

On Sep 20, Police were present at murder site in Mandai but chosen the role of mute spectator. Amidst CPI-M, IPFT clash rather than transporting bleeding Santanu to emergency care immediately, Police failed to move over one and half hour and finally transported the body under their boots in vehicle to Agartala. Now Chief Ministeter cum Home Minister Manik Sarkar entrusted same Police to investigate Santanu murder case.

However, both the parties CPI-M, IPFT denied the allegation of Santanu's murder and CPI-M has alleged IPFT and IPFT has alleged CPI-M behind the murder.

CPI-M influenced Police investigation has been very slow and unexpectedly police is not keen for any proper action.

Allegation raised infront of  over 100 onlookers that Santanu was killed at Mandai but after 2 hours of the injury Santanu was not taken to hospital and due to bleeding the young journalist died.

Opposition BJP has also demanded CBI investigation into the case.

Even though Police arrested few accused tribals in Santanu murder case but none seems actual murderers.

Manik Sarkar Govt's fear for CBI investigation further raising doubts over CPI-M's rougue elements involvement in Santanu murder.
