AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt successfully transformed Agartala as most 'unsmart City' by destroying minimum public amenities like basic motorable roads. As promised earlier to fool public, Tripura PWD Minister couldn’t keep his promise of repairing Battala-Nagerjala route before Durga puja and Sapatami night went without much promised so called smooth roadway on that route. Due to the pathetic condition of Battala-Nagerjala road traffic went congested throughout day creating much problems for the common people even during the day time. But Tripura PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury said on Sep-29 that the Battala-Nagerjala road repairing will be completed by next 5 days. When Tripura road are suffering from deplorable condition, under PPP model and Mamata Banerjee's Governance West Bengal roads are being repaired overnight.

During day time public walk on the road whether whole night road repairing works take place, but Tripura Govt although opposes PPP model it has no capacity to give its people minimum standard roads due to the lameduck PWD Dept.

Battala-Nagerjala road is the worst one among all the roads of the City. Being located on the national highway the route under flyover project work has remained not better than hell-route. Bumping and jumping amid high accident chances have become the fate of the common people here.

MLA Pabitra Kar during his flyover visit said that if weather permits then the work will be completed before Durga puja. But already 3 / 4 days have gone without rain but not a single work was done. PWD Officials also waiting for the flyover completion so that the below road can be taken cared, but if West Bengal can fix its roads in one night why Tripura PWD can not by deploying extra workers ?

Across the state the roads have turned pathetic but there is no urgency to repair the roads.

Double lane project even though said to be completed  of 60 % but practically not even 30 % work has been progressed. This is leading mass suffering for public with increasing number of accidents.

On the other side due to drainage system's poor management flood can hit anytime during Durga Puja. With all these how the Durga Puja will go in the capital city, it has become a matter of concern.

Resentments of public on Battala road has extended beyond limits, but PWD is not taking a single step to sort out the problem. However, after the visit of Minister Badal Chowdhury on Tuesday it has been said the road will be repaired by 5 days next.
