AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): Several questions were raised by journalists but ICA Minister BhnaulalSaha couldn't answer on, 'What is the weakness of Tripura Govt to mention about IPFT in the Govt press release. Why no arrest of N C Debbarma ? Why no suspension of Tripura police officials who showed negligence in their duty and standing like puppets while Santanu was murdered ?'
Tripura Govt in the press release feared to mention a single word about IPFT that has triggered various questions.
"This is not first time that IPFT was indulged in violence. From rally to National Highway blockade everywhere they had showed their mafia raj. But till day West Police didn't inquiry the 23rd Sep incident. Why ?", journalists asked BhanulalSaha.
However, during section-144 Santanu was killed and many sources said during killing the killers couldn't identify Santanu as a journalist but after killing they realized they did a mistake by killing a journalist.
On Sep-20 Tripura Journalists being shocked, grieved with the barbaric murder of young journalist SantanuBhowmik, hit Agartala streets with protest-roars demanding immediate arrest of Santanu’s murderers. Santanu was the first murdered journalist in Tripura’s history and thus Sep-20 has been spotted as the dark day of the democracy under the Left Front Govt. However, even though it was expected that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will come to the spot to console the journalists, but sadly he did not. Later, a group of journalists had to visit Secretariat to meet the Chief Minister and take his assurance about arrest the murderers.
In a brutal attack during IPFT / CPI-M clash has killed Tripura young journalist SantanuBhowmik on Wednesday. Resident of Jirania, the young journalist was associated with various electronic media who has been killed while covering IPFT and CPI-M clash at Mandai.
