Agartala, August 10 (TIWN): Aam Admi party (AAP), Tripura state committee, on Sunday held a crucial meeting to decide on its strategy and course of action for the next six months, sources inside the party said.

A high level meeting of the party’ state committee today convened at the Agartala Press Club and discussed issues pertaining to the party’s next course of action.

 Aam Admi Party state chief Dr. Salil Saha denied to give out any strategic decisions as yet. “This was a strictly internal meeting of the party. We haven’t reached any major decisions for announcement. We hope to come up with something sometime soon”, he said.

Dr. Saha, a national executive committee member of the AAP, is reported to be in close terms with the party higher ups.

“He is good terms with standing national executive member Habung Payeng”, a party source said.

However, since the debacle of the Aam Admi Party, the national leadership didn’t show any interest in reviving the party base in any state of the country including Tripura.

Speaking about the issue, the party state committee source today said, “We don’t have any direct connect with the people anymore. In a politically bipolar state like Tripura, things don’t work out easily for a new party that speaks against all existing ones. We would need some strategy to regain the trust of people”.

The source said that AAP state chief Dr. Salil Saha today instructed all party members and leaders to go closer to the people. He is reported to have taken a strong stand against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s statement at Sonamura District and Sessions Judge Court inaugural session which triggered a chain of exchanges between the administration and judiciary earlier this month.

“Dr. Saha asked all party leaders to be pro-active in tackling crimes and wrongdoings in their own capacities”, the source said.

The party leader is, however, known to be mostly outside the state out of the year himself on professional errands.
