AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): Rising unemployment tension has gripped Tripura with 8 lakhs of unemployed youths are left jobless, workless due to CPI-M's 24 years planned deprivation and corruption out of its 36 lakhs of population. Recently Tripura Chief Minister said in a nursing college programme that there are highest demand of workers in nursing sector across the globe. Due to the crisis even nurses are bought by foreign countries from Indian markets. Manik Sarkar also mentioned that students are rushing for nursing courses just for job-guarantee factors. But on Thursday the scenario at Agartala was just opposite of the claims of Tripura Chief Minister. A number of nursing students on Thursday to meet the Health Minister Badal Choudhury went to his residence, waited for hours but they were returned empty handed as Minister couldn't seen. Official source said that Minister is not at Agartala and left for some works. The angry nursing passed out students reached CPI-M party office at Melarmath in demand of answer to job-policy of the CPI-M that had led a huge chaos at Melarmath zone.
Again it was on June 13 that the unemployed Nursing passed out students had met Tripura Health Minister Badal Choudhury with the delaying of yearly recruitment process for the year 2017.
Gathering infront of Health Minister Badal Choudhury's residence in the morning the unemployed youths alleged that every year in June-July session an interview call is conducted but this year the Govt yet to release advertisement for fresh interview.
Already there are huge number of unemployed youths passed out nursing degrees and a year of 'no-recruitment' will double the unemployment rate further.
The youths also said if the recruitment process is not started soon, then there will be massive protests in coming days. However, Badal Choudhury's Dept is alleged for delaying recruitment for the whole year as the Homeopathic doctors posts are left vacant since 17 years.
Recently, in this regard the unemployed doctors placed deputation to Badal Choudhury on May 26.
Moreover, in the month of May against the recruitment of pharmacists in the health dept in 2015, a case has been filed by unemployed deprived youths in Tripura. Total 12 youths have filed the petitioner claiming the jobs are bogus and given without following the guidelines.
On the other side, recently few job offers have been released for lab technician, blood bank worker, radiologist and pharmacist. The offers were released in the last week for 43 posts, but neither seniority nor SC/ ST criteria was maintained while recruiting them.
However with all these resentment has brewed among the unemployed youths in Tripura and meeting the Health Minister on Tuesday the nursing passed out students asked for fresh advertisement publication.
