AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): Screaming over ‘lack of qualified teachers’ for decades, when opportunity came, Tripura Govt has been remained silent to train its teachers. After the RTE Act was implemented with revised recruitment laws in 2009 many states had alert the teachers about the necessary qualification. The West Bengal Govt too a special attempt to train its teachers by 2012, whereas Tripura Govt took no such initiative so far. The matter turned critical when schools education is facing tough times due to lack of qualified teachers, state govt is silent to arrange the admission of the teachers after Central Govt gave a golden opportunity to the teachers on Aug-3.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP Party office, spokesperson Ashok Sinha said, “The intention of Tripura Govt is really hard to understand. When state govt was crying for relaxation, then was blaming the central govt. But when relaxation is given the state is not taking any action”.

The BJP Spokesperson also told the teachers via media, "Please do not come under any trap. Just fill up the forms and complete your incomplete degrees. If you have not passed Class-12 with 50 % then complete it. Now a days, getting 50 % marks have become easy".

Under Monmohon Singh as the PM the 2009's RTE Act rules were adapted saying all the teachers must have necessary qualifications with 50 % marks in Class-12 and DEIED degree for all primary / upper primary teachers by 2015. With the deadline had ended in 2015, the BJP led Central Govt has once again given relaxation for more 2 years after a bill was unanimously passed on Aug 1. Tripura Govt had received a letter on Aug-3 regarding this. But with a strange motive state govt hided the notification.

The Lok Sabha on July-21 passed a Bill that offers untrained teachers teaching in schools time till March 31, 2019, to acquire B.El. Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education) or D. El. Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) qualifications to hold their jobs as teachers.

When the central govt has given the full opportunity to the teachers for completing their B.Ed degrees within 2yrs and the admission must be taken within 2017’s Sept. but Tripura Govt has kept the matter hidden with an unknown reason.
