AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Whereas awarenesses are spreading among the common people not to take any inked / soiled notes of Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500 but the rules are yet on the air without any proper notification. One the one side, Banks are also rejecting scribbled notes of Rs. 2000 but similar notes are transacting from ATMs. But such crucial issues must be cleared via proper notifications. With customers allegations, TIWN has scrutinized a Rs. 2000's note numbered 5BK 655699 which was rejected by BSNL office on Wednesday, when the customer went to pay the monthly bill. The problem was the person took the money not from ATM but with a bundle of notes in business purpose before few days and there is chance of returning the money. Nothing was wrong with the note except a pen-written "100" on it. But BSNL Official sitting in the cash counter said, "This note is not valid. We have circulation not to except such notes". TIWN visited RBI Head Office in Agartala to clarify the issue. Meeting the RBI official there Tanay Pal, he told TIWN, "There is no fault with the note. This is absolutely okay".

However the RBI official further added, "As public are not receiving the money please aware people not to take written notes at all. If ATMs deliver such notes just immediately complain it in the bank. The complaint can be done via online also".

But BSNL officials simply denied to take the money saying they need RBI's written copy. After TIWN talked to the BSNL high officials, BSNL Cash-counter's chief Bibhuti Chakraborty however talked to the counter persons via phone. Later he informed verbally that most probably from BSNL, State Bank clear instructions are given on it. He will look into the matter and inform in details soon about it within Thursday.

But the problem is hacking the customers is that where they should go ? Digitally India yet to move fully and the 29 states in practical world are running through cash-transactions mostly. Why there is no action against the banks whose ATMs are giving scribbled notes to the public. What is the meaning of 'awareness' if ATMs are delivering soiled notes ? Again for complaint if public have to rush to banks, then what's the use of ATMs in India ?
