AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): The golden girl of Tripura Dipa Karmakar left Agartala today morning for Delhi. Before leaving Dipa spoke to TIWN, “Commonwealth Games & Asian Games both are equally competitive for me”, She said, there were some countries which is competitor in the Commonwealth Games like England, Nigeria and New Zealand etc, amongst which are not present in the Asian Games.

But there will be competitive countries in the Asian Games like South Korea, Canada, Australia. “Gold or at least a silver medal would have to achieve from Asian Games’, says confident Dipa. Talking about the medals achieved by her till this year she replied that, “55 senior Championship, 12 international championships, 5 Gold Medals in National level, Scotland Winner medal and recent most tremendous achievement- 1st woman to achieve Bronze in Gymnastic sphere in CWG”.

“However the most obviously memorable one is - Commonwealth Game-2014’s Bronze Medal”. - says Dipa. Who is the main inspiration behind your success, Dipa’s quick reply was that, ‘Without my father, it is not possible to reach such a stage. Father brought me into Gymnastic on Dec 1999 and accordingly I started formally on 2001onwards’. She also added that, every game and achievement of medal strengthens her aim, inspiration.

It is to be noted here that, Dipa’s father Dulal Karmakar himself is a sportsman. He is basically an Iron lifter. As per as state infrastructures is concern she said, ‘We have some International Equipment in present but some other necessary things should be there especially for Gymnastic students & Coaches.’ Sharing her future dreams Dipa said, at present moment she should not give focus on any sphere. Her bird’s eye should be on Asian Games to win Gold Medal.

Lastly Dipa’s message to future generation is to join and involve more in sports. There should be a target of every sports person and the keen desire to achieve it. Last but not the least Coach’s instruction & direction should be properly maintained- Dipa’s earnest request to all.
