Flood hit Tripura facing  massive losses : 3 deaths, 4 injured seriously : Assessment of property to begin after rescue and relief operation is closed

AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): Tripura is undergoing heavy losses after the flood had hit the Northeast part of the country. On Sunday night more 8 houses were flown with Howrah river bank's collapsed, whereas in the morning Orient Chowmuhani located shops were recovered with crores of damages. The businessmen there said that due to the massive flood and water logging, the businessmen are facing lakhs of losses. As per Tripura Disaster management latest report, "Total 18 deployed at the affected places. NDRF and TSR personnel working in the affected areas. 14 nos improvised floating devices are also being used in rescue operation Seepages in embankments at Howrah river at Chandrapur, Joynagar, IGM Extension road, Ramkrishna Ashram Road were seen and engineers from PWD and WR depts are taking necessary measures".

"Assessment of property shall be done by the concerned SDM once the rescue and relief operation is closed", Disaster Management Official said.

"At  Madhyapara, Ward No. 41, one Sneha Dey (11) D/O-Tarun Dey was found dead, before that a 15 years boy was electrocuted to death. On Sunday afternoon  A 22 years boy named Suman Sarkar has been flown with high waved flood water on Sunday evening. Suman Sarkar (22) resident of Ranir Barar's Bridhhanagar went to catch fishes from there but suddenly he was flown with the flood water.

Apart from life losses, massive damages were reported from various corners of the Capital Agartala. Houses were collapsed along with huge losses of crops experienced by the farmers. 

Total four persons were badly injured Namita Sarkar injured due to mud wall collapse at South Madhupur admitted at GB Hospital & (ii) One injured at Laxmibill. One Bargo Bijoy Jamatia (55) of Sabaria Bazar injured due to falling of a tree and hospitalized at Kherenbar hospital. 15 nos electric poles damaged at Takarjala Jogendra nagar road. One house damaged partly and one cow died due to falling of tree.

The flood victims have urged the administrations across the state to provide proper compensation faced by the family due to the loss.
