AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): After 48 hours of passage finally Tripura Health Dept Officials have visited the SSA teachers on Thursday to check their health condition, out of media pressure. However, asking the teachers they have strongly condemned Tapan Chakraborty's statement of Wednesday evening via a press conference. Whereas the Minister said that many states couldn't regularize the SSA teachers, the teachers said, "This is a total lie as the states those had asked the Central Govt to regularize the teachers, they have given permission and all states have regularized the teachers who crossed 5 years of their jobs. As per MHRD guidelines also state govt is bound to regularize the teachers". But surprisingly, no Education Dept official had visited the teachers who are sitting at hunger strike in Paradise Chowmuhani. The teachers also raised question, why Bhanulal Saha told the Central Govt and also in press conference that 'many teachers are paid on regular basis' ?

On Wednesday evening, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty had finally dumped the regularization of SSA teacher's issue to the Central Govt. "As you are asking me, same you should ask the Central Govt to regularize you", Tapan Chakraborty said this to the SSA teachers via media.

Question now, why SSA teachers will request for themselves ? It's norm that state govt has to request the centre for this. Tapan Chakraborty also have refused for bringing any extra fund in their names and switched off his mobile after the press conference.

But one thing Chakraborty didn't mention clearly, whether state govt has sent any proposal to central govt in this regard or not ?

In the letter the SSA teachers on Wednesday, informed the Prime Minister as well as MHRD and Governor about the hunger strike conducting by them. In the letter the agitators said, "We have been sitting in Hunger Strike till death at Orient Chowmuhani from Aug-1st, 2017 for regularization of SSA teaching and non-teaching staffs. On last 25 July we have met with the state Project Director, Tripura Rajya Mission to place our charter demands with proper documents in favour of regularization. But the Dept doesn't take any proper decision in favour of our regularization demand. That is why we are compelled to sit in hunger strike till death at Orient Chowmuhani, Agartala".

As per the MHRD guidelines, it has been said, "The States should maintain unified teaching cadres and no separate teaching cadre is permissible as all teachers are ultimately to be borne on the States and UTs". ( Annexure-1, of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) change-in certain SSA norms of 2014, Jan 1).
