AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): Increasing Indo-Bangla smuggling cases have become rampant via Tripura as once again Airport officials have arrested one Bangladeshi with 40 pieces of gold on Thursday. The suspected person is a Bangladeshi citizen identified as Shah Alam. Alam was moving from Tripura to Kolkata via SpiceJet but during luggage checking the hidden gold pieces kept inside his luggage had been identified by SpiceJet employees. The SpiceJet was scheduled to leave at 10.10 AM numbered SG-277 that had arrived from Kolakta at 9.40 AM. A tension had emerged when SpiceJet workers caught the bag red handed and officials were questioning why he was bearing the gold. Airport police has rushed to the spot and the inquiry is going on. Most entrances of Bangladeshis are happening via Sonamura mostly. A source said that the 9 KM unfenced area has been a major reason behind illegal entrances, whereas legally people comes via Srimantapur checkpost. The source also alleged that there mafias the deal with the export-import mainly.
However, today's SpiceJet traveller Shah Alam having passport, VISA with him. Thus question raises, how via Srimantapur checkpost people are coming with bags full-loaded with gold.
