AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Being the Chief Minister of a small state like Tripura, it was expected that Manik Sarkar was likely to salute the martyr whose body arrived at Agartala Airport on Thursday 12.25 PM but surprisingly at a little distance in Narshingarh, lameduck CM continued propaganda against Central Govt for not filling up the vacancies in various Depts, but CM ignored martyr Amal Sarkar’s name who was killed by NDFB militants. SSB Sub-Inspector Amal Sarkar was killed after a joint team of the 156th battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Army and local police engaged in a gunbattle in the forests around Manas wildlife sanctuary in the district around 2:30 PM on Tuesday. Manik Sarkar preferred party politics rather than expressing condolence over martyr’s death at Police ground. CM was busy in covering CPI-M Govt’s lapses so continued tirade against Central Govtat Passing out parade of women constables (13th batch) programme held at Police Training Academy ground on Thursday.

But Manik Sarkar didn't feel it necessary to offer atleast some kind words to Tripura origin martyr Amal Sarkar, neither CM bothered to visit Agartala Airport even though Sarkar is holding the portfolio of Home Minister.

This is not the first time, but in the time of Shambhu Satmura, Chittaranjan Debbarma also he did the same. However, whereas Naresh Jamatia visited in Chittaranjan Debbarma's funeral with mistake of offering red-salute to him, CM met the family members just for show off later. Apart from that Chief Minister also said that in Kashmir Battle the people who died they can be called 'Martyrs' which triggered controversies immediately. Opposition party alleged, "By giving red salute CPI-M has highly insulted the Martyr Chittaranjan Debbarma at Khowai, which is unacceptable".

Then, who can forget about Tripura Assembly's forgetting of 2 martyrs on the opening day of the Assembly budget session whereas  Dec 15 is neither Cuba former President and Communist revolutionary Fidel Castro’s birth anniversary or death anniversary but whereas Fidel Castro was paid tribute with 2 minutes of silence, but nobody dedicated 2 minutes of silence in assembly to them after 1 month of death.

It was the same Chief Minister who once said, "Due to central's deprivation terrorists emerge in Northeast states".

CPI-M backed media also for whole Thursday avoided to highlight the martyrs story, revealing suspicious mentality of the left front party.

However, on the other hand Minister Badal Chowdhury was busy in  preaching at Hrishyamukh claiming Tripura Govt will be with 10,323 teachers, but claiming him as the Southern leader he didn't dedicate a single line for the brave soul.

More interestingly, comrade Basudeb Majumder also offered red salute on Thursday to Amal Sarkar, proving the arrogance of CPI-M, even after much criticism in Naresh Jamatia's red salute to Chittaranjan Debbarma.
