AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Giving a certain relief to the tribal people across Northeast, Amit Shah told reporters that customary laws will not be changed without talking to the tribal people here and keeping their views in respect.

“We will talk to the tribals & listen their pleas and then only we will think about implementation”, said Shah.

“Modi Govt is taking various attempts to develop the rural and ADC areas in faster manner”, Shah added.

The tribal people(s) constitute a substantially important part in the rich and diverse conglomeration of Indian population. They have their unique socio-cultural mechanism and ordered behavior pattern for the maintenance of equilibrium, social order, tranquility and peace. These mechanisms are taboos, social sanctions, ritualistic faiths, obeyance to super-natural powers, public opinion, good sense and ethics. These practices constitute the customary laws of the tribal society.

It’s worthy to mention here that declaring more power to ADC, finally Modi govt has decided to felicitate ADC with direct funding, said a BJP source.

Addressing a press meet recenly on the background of Amit Shah's arrival, BJP tribal leader Jishnu Debbarma on Friday said, "Whereas CPI-M MP, leaders are pushing Centre to give more power to ADC, but they never demanded about direct funding system for ADC. Centralization of ADC fund that is fully controlled by state govt which initiates corruption. Thus from now ADCs will be funded directly".

"We do not believe in separate land, but to increase ADC's power is important", said Debbarma.

He further slammed the left front govt for looting ADC funds for long 24 years.
