Tripura under heavy cyclone alert : Rain and thundershowers reported from other Northeast states

AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): A cyclonic circulation can be marked over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas. Already, rain and thundershowers occurred at many places over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Isolated rains were observed over Himachal Pradesh, North Punjab and Kerala. The weather forecast also for Mrach 30 alerted Tripura and other NE state with cyclone risks due to Western Disturbance, the skymetweather.com mentioned.In the last cyclone 1 woman was killed after a heavy tree fall upon her. 45-year-old tribal woman was killed at Abhonagar, near here, when a tree fell down on her. The seasonal storm, accompanied by rains, also damaged the power supply system, uprooted many electric poles and big trees, besides damaging many homes and various properties in different parts of the state.

As per the weather activity in last 24 hours, heatwave condition prevailed in western and eastern parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and one or two places over West Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Rain and thundershowers occurred at many places over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Isolated rains were observed over Himachal Pradesh, North Punjab and Kerala.

Weather Forecast for next 24 hours will be lead by scattered rains over Jammu and Kashmir. Rain intensity is likely to increase over northeastern states. Light to moderate rains, with one or two heavy falls are expected over the region. Andaman and Nicobar Islands will record scattered rain activity, while Kerala will see some isolated showers. Heatwave conditions will continue over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.
