AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): During Holi when Section 144 was imposed at Agartala both TMC and BJP supporters all of a sudden started agitations with around 100 of supporters which left 11 police personnel and more 8 persons injured at Monday night. Talking to TIWN on Tuesday, SP West Abhijit Saptarshi, he said, “Police have not arrested anybody as it need to find out who is actual guilty and the allegations are from both sides. Moreover, both the party members had violated section 144 by showing agitation during section 144â€. Saptarshi further informed that against many people FIR had been lodged. ‘We are collecting the footage for further investigation, which left 11 police persons injured too. 2 police persons were seriously injured named-Sanjib Laskar who got fracture in hand another S/I- Himadri Sarkar’, added Saptarshi.
Atleast 40 people’s names from BJP / TMC were included as Papiya Rakshit, Amit Rakshit, Subal Bhowmik, Sandip Roy Barman among 100 of agitators, said SP West.
It’s worthy to mention here that atleast 100 Congress supporters had joined BJP on Monday during Holi celebration and they were putting flags before Aparupa Fastfood. But after Sandip Roy Barman (Ex Congress CM Sudip Barman’s son) objected the BJP to do so, it began heated comments among themselves. Allegedly, Barman also assaulted Jayanta Dey, a BJP Bordowai Committee member present there.
After that when BJP members went to West Police Station to lodge an FIR, the Trinamool also came to the spot and a massive clash occurred among both the parties, which left many people injured on spot.
2 media persons Netu Dey and Swapan Dey also received serious injuries.
The follow-up protests of the incident are going on across the state and security has been tightened at Agartala City.
SP West said, “Presently maintaining peace is most important as Madhymik and 12 exams are ongoing”.
