AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Taking charge of Tripura roadways since 24 year, Tripura PWD is merely playing with the lifelines of state, but the NH-44 never became perfect in shape, but allegation was always raised by Tripura Govt against Central Govt for this pathetic condition of Tripura roads. Instead of knowing that monsoon will badly hurt state Tripura, PWD once again has took the work of double lane ahead of monsoon, which turned the Udaipur-Agartala road more pathetic. Earlier through press conferences at Secretariat, Tripura PWD, Transport Minister and Bhanulal Saha held a joint press meet when Tripura was suffering from petrol crisis due to Assam-Agartala bad condition of road, but within a year the road was repaired under the new Govt at Assam. Now PWD Dept. led by 12th Pass PWD Minister Badal Choudhury has taken charge of Udaipur-Agartala roadway in the monsoon and as a result transport is becoming quite impossible through this road.A recent survey reveals that who is doing what project is clearly working on voters' minds.

On the other hand, Modi Govt with full enthusiasm is working on Tripura railway tracks. NFR has done excellent so far and within 2019 whole Tripura to be connected by Railway lines. Now it's to be seen how far Tripura Govt can finish the project of roadway, as if the pathos goes on over NH-44, it will heavily down the vote banks of CPI-M.

Union Minister on January 24 during Agartala-Udaipur train service inauguration via a video conference told Tripura that Tripura Sundari Temple is now connected to rest of India and soon it is to be connected with Kamaksha directly and to be a part of Pilgrimage journey.

However, as a part of NE connectivity with a good news the Astha Circuit Train from Kamakhya Railway Station has already kicked off, which can be reached by Tripura’s pilgrimages easily. However, the service till Kamakhya temple will be extended to Agartala Railway Station soon.

Apart from that states in the region would likely to get a total of Rs 43,285 crores in 2017-18 and there’s hope that of the 3,500 km of new railway lines commissioned for the coming financial year a sizeable part would be constructed in the region.

Now in this competitive situation, in both the ways Tripura will be benefited as fear of vote banks will speed up the projects in Railway and in National Highway. Now, it's to be seen, who wins in development works at the end.
