AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): As Agartala is claimed as the 2nd busiest Airports in Northeast, so chances are there that Airport Authority of India may think about 2 more non-functional airdrome in Tripura which can be converted into Airports with better facilities. These 2 Airports will be : Kamalpur and Kailashahar.

However, when Tripura Transport Dept. had talked to the Central Govt about these 2 airports, it's not clear nut the govt claims for pressuring the Central Govt manytimes about these 2 Airports-spots.

Even in the budget also Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said, "AAI is implementing the modernization of Agartala Airport  project. State Govt has handed over 76.703 acres of land and spent Rs. 38.13 crores for land acquisition and rehabilitation etc. in connection with the said project. I urge the Govt Of India to expedite the work so that modernization of Agartala airport is started at the earliest. I also urge upon the Govt of India to operationalize Kailashahar and Kamalpur airports as early as possible".
