Tripura Election Battles : After Congress and Trinamool, now BJP announced 'Civil Disobedience Movement' on 4th March

AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Tripura's 3 opposition parties are busy in election competition and now BJP has geared up to cite example of Civil Disobedience Movement; stressing on Chanmohon Tripura murder. Already Congress and Trinamool have completed that part and now BJP is going to organize Civil Disobedience move on March 4th centering Chamohon Tripura's murder. Both Congress and Trinamool had 11 demands and special focus was given to Rose Valley issue. BJP State President Biplab Deb during his visit at Dharmanagar has on Tuesday announced about this party programme schedule. Apart from that on March 10, demanding CBI inquiry against Chanmohon Tripura murder BJP is going for another set of protest at Agartala. However, almost all the parties have observed this Civil Disobedience Movement except CPI-M, if they finish the part it will be all done. However, BJP State President also met Union Home Minister Rajnath Signh in this regard. Immediately after the murder Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar commented that Biplab Deb meets Rajnath if a cat at Agartala town dies. With all these BJP has announced Civil Disobedience movement on 4rth March.

Earlier also many protests held regarding Chanmohon Tripura murder.

On Dec 28 public shown huge support to BJP’s 24 hrs strike at Dhalai Dist after the brutal killing of BJP party member Chanmohon Tripura, who was an elected as BJP member at Gandacherra.

In a press meet called by BJP party members on Wednesday led by Lawyer Kalyani Roy, BJP said that at Dhalai Dist. Strike is being observed fully and 500 BJP members were arrested already by State Police.  “Chamohon Tripura was killed by 7 people led by Biswanath Tripura and all of them are CPI-M party workers”, added Roy. “Chanmohon Tripura’s brother Ananda Mohon Tripura had lodged an FIR against 7 CPI-M cadres for killing his elder brother. When Ananda Mohon rushed to save his brother at home, there were 7 persons including accused Biswanath Tripur, who further warned Ananda Mohon if he does BJP then his condition will be same”, said Kalyani Roy.

"After the FIR was lodged police didn’t arrest anybody but when pressure mounted, the main accused Biswanath Mohon was said by police as ‘mental-patient’ and instead of arresting him police took him to hospital.However, with much pressures from BJP higher-ups, atlast police arrested”, Roy said.

 BJP leaders at Party office further said that she called the I/O of the case Jayanta Debnath at night about the status of the case, but I/O clearly said he is unaware about the court order.

Later, in this regard a 5 member team will meet with DGP K Nagraj at Agartala Police Head quarter about the loose investigation led by Tripura police.

CPI-M on Monday rubbished all the allegations raised by State BJP about Chanmohon Tripura's murder by CPI-M, which has fueled BJP for seeking CBI inquiry against the case (Case No. 34/ 2016 U/ S 302 of IPC).
