AGARTALA, Feb 4 (TIWN): The MGNREGA work completion in Tripura has been measured by the Central Govt as only 9.31 %, less than maximum states in India. Other Northeastern states as Arunachal Pradesh scored by 22.13 % as per the Geo tags. All these have created huge resentment among the CPI-Ms here. Already the MGNREGA fund has been slashed by the Central Govt. The Central Govt government has allocated Rs 48,000 crore to the scheme for this financial year. The rural development ministry is expecting more funds at its disposal for the next fiscal, having managed most of its dues for 2016-17., but everything will be kept under Geo tracking. From now vague submission of MGNREGA audit reports will be treated strictly by the Central Govt. and the embezzlement of Central fund will not be so easy like previous years for the corrupted RD Dept. officials in Tripura. Apart from that Tripura left with 5 % in status of Category B work, with worst performance among all Northeast states, work completion rate is 9.31.

Moreover Tripura’s Social Audit Unit  found having no bank account yet. Centre also noticed Tripura Govt for hiding reports under MGNREGA and it was said that no audit was done properly in 2016.

CPI-M never thought that such a central govt will be emerged in India, which will make all setting to fight back all the corruptions in the country. But with the sudden change of the Central govt, the 23 yrs of slow-move of Tripura CPI-M Govt is now under heavy threat which is leading the politicians to throw various comments about the Modi govt now a days.

Recently while discussing with TIWN about Geo-tacking under Central Govt’s scheme for MGNREGA, Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that the Central Govt is giving major shocks to people one after one and CPI-M has problem with that only.

“We are not against Geo-tacking or any other corruption, but why without any pre-announcement the declaration is given by the Modi Govt?”. Dhar added. Dhar further said that in India such digitization and hundred percent cash-free society is not possible so soon, but the Centre is giving as much as shocks as possible.

However, from the E-governance has smoothen the way for the Central Govt to track the works of various states via geo tracking.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday announced the construction of 500,000 farm ponds in 2017-18. He said the government has reoriented NREGA to support its resolve to double farmers' income. The geo tracking to help the govt to achieve more targets.
