AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): Reacting over CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar’s accusations against Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy and his demand for ‘abolition Governor's post itslef’ got brickbats from opposition parties. Cutting across party lines , opposition have slammed the ruling CPI-M’s ‘outlook’ about the constitution. Accusing Governor Tathagata Roy for calling Communists as ‘fascist’, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said, ‘Communists always fought against fascism, but the Governor who was earlier a RSS boy, now ruling over Tripura and just exploiting the state. We already said that the Governor post is unimportant and no need of any Governor in state. A Governor should be selected by Election’. However CPI-M's anti-national propaganda united major opposition parties in State. Talking to TIWN Saha said, ‘This is just unconstitutional talk that Dhar talked. This is bad and the CPI-M State Secretary should apology for it’. "If he (Roy) wants to do politics, he should quit the constitutional post of governor and do politics", Dhar said at Melarmath Party office.

"As a RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) worker, he was appointed Governor by the BJP government at the Centre," Dhar, also Secretary of the CPI-M Tripura state committee, told reporters here."When most of the states in India opposed the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government's decision to dissolve the Planning Commission and form the NITI Aayog, the Tripura Governor is advocating in its favour," he said.

Referring to Roy's suggestion during the celebration of National Voters Day on Wednesday in Agartala, the CPI-M leader said it is very unfortunate that a governor of a state favour the undemocratic view of conducting parliamentary and state assembly elections together. "As per our federal structure, it is not possible to hold state assembly and Lok Sabha elections together. It seems our governor is in touch with new US President Donald Trump and shares his thoughts and ideas," said Dhar, who was accompanied by another CPI-M central committee member Gautam Das.

However, state was also expecting atleast some kind of protest from BJP Krishna Nagar Party office. But it seems BJP has failed to secure the prestige of the constitutional posts.
