AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): India’s most corrupt Director General of Police K.Nagraj against whom CBI chargesheeted in 2005,2007 for amassing crores of wealth beyond known sources of income was handpicked by CM Manik Sarkar to lead State Police. Nagraj’s primary function was to put lids on various crimes, scams involving CPI-M and its top leaders. Massive criticism hit DGP K Nagraj’s prestige after he uttered that a total around 78 chit fund cases are presently under SIT. Whereas there were 70 cases under SIT which was told by High Court as well Manik Sarkar himself, DGP said a different figure. Congress MLA Ratan Lal Saha recently raised question about the double answer from state administration regarding chit fund investigation and he further mocked at DGP’s ignorance. Nath also doubted whether 70 figure is correct or not as under West PS there are 3 cases as : 140/2013, 141 /2013, Case No. 132/ 2013. But what surprises is that the case number 140 & 141 were not enlisted in those 70 chit fund cases under SIT.

Nath was talking on the background of Rose Valley Chit fund in Tripura at Press Club, where he raised the issue.

Apart from that doubt another TMC leader Sudip Barman also mocked at DGP Nagraj particularly mentioning about SIT’s slow progress in Chit fund cases. Whereas Tripura DGP K Nagraj on Wednesday held a press meet regarding decreaing crime rates of Tripura and boosted a lot about the so called  ‘exclusive success’ of Tripura police under his leadership, on the other hand MLA Sudip Barman said, ‘DGP is doing press meet and lecturing long, whereas under his Director generalship Tripura Police, SIT team ---- all are sleeping. ‘Why SIT has failed in every inquiry in state Tripura, somebody should ask him?’, asked Barman.

On the other hand talking to Congress MLA Birjit Sinha about MGNREGA investigation he told TIWN that investigation goes slow as Manik Sarkar dictated Nagraj to “Go-Slow” !

 “A comprehensive analysis indicates that a total of 4048 cases registered during 2016 against 4864 cases in 2015. In terms of percentage over all registration of crime has down by 16 % during 2016 as compare to the previous year. A detailed analysis further shows that property offences were downed by 17 %, crime against Women by 21 %, Bodily offences by 11 % and Motor accident cases by 14 % during 2016 as compared to previous year. Crime against women have come down to 1044 in 2016 as compared to 1323 of 2015. However, prevention of CAW cases continues to be priority for Tripura Police. In Traffic management, peaceful conduct of elections. Prayaas, blood donation camp etc are doing very properly”, recently claimed DGP.

However, Nagraj who has good-skill in Mathematics in Crime-reduction often boosts a lot about crime rate’s decreasement. However, his lies have now revealed when he failed to talk exact figures about SIT undertaken cases.
