AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): Being a communist Chief Minister, Manik Sarkar’s royal styles continue to generate public resentments as CM prefers expensive Helicopter rides to reach out to nearby earthquake victims to distribute a meagre sum of Rs 150 instead of substantial help. Tripura evenafter CPI-M’s 23 yrs rule failed to advance in technologically at the minimum, which once again has proven when after 24 hrs of passage the Govt failed to recover the correct data of earthquake losses across the whole State. However, after 24 hours after the 5.5 richter scale massive-earthquake, Tripura CM Manik Sarkar reached Kamalpur by expensive helicopter ride to distribute only Rs 150 to victim families.

CM’s act was really nothing but a mockery to the earthquake tragedy laced victims. Visiting the relief camp, although CM found tha  people were not provided with food packets,  little children lying over the floor but Manik Sarkar ignored these realities. No drinking water facility, no food arrangements were visible after earthquake calamity.

During CM’s visit Rs. 150 per family was provided to the earthquake victims in that relief camp, which triggered much resentment among the victims.

But what surprising is that, evenafter much criticism, the Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty also did the same on Thursday during his visit at Unakoti Dist sparing only Rs 150 per family.

In a visit to Unakoti Dist Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty at Jamtail Bari ADC Village where 90 families were identified as victim families, among them 22 families are yet homeless.

A section of people have taken shelter under temporary constructions made with bamboos and straws.Since last 2 days atleast 22 tribal families are passing their days and night at refugee camp, whether no one visited the spot.

Atleast 1311 houses were damaged in Tripura after earthquake had hit the state on Tuesday afternoon.

In this regard all the DMs had visited to various spots to take notes of earthquake affect in Tripura. Following the report, PWD Minister Badal Choudhury said that many losses have been reported due to the earthquake, whereas the around 1311 houses were damaged in Tripura.

Unakoti and Dhalai Dist have been identified as the mostly affected areas.1 died, 7 critically injured in that quake.

Apart from homes, hospitals, govt offices also faced major affects of the earthquake. 108 families have sheltered in relief camps at Unakoti and Dhalai Dists.

But Govt’s attitude to the victims has triggered resentments among the common people. Infact same was done with the flood victims also. Although RD Principal Secretary GSG Aayangar visited during flood at Dharmanagar in Chopper ride and promised to provide compensation from the Centre, but the funds have failed to reach out the victims even till date.
