AGARTALA, Jan 4 (TIWN): Whereas Tripura DGP K Nagraj on Wednesday held a press meet regarding decreasing crime rates of Tripura and boosted a lot about the so called ‘exclusive success’ of Tripura police under his leadership, on the other hand MLA Sudip Barman said, ‘DGP is doing press meet and lecturing long, whereas under his Director generalship Tripura Police, SIT team ---- all are sleeping. ‘Why SIT has failed in every inquiry in state Tripura, somebody should ask him?’, asked Barman. However, Nagraj during the press meet said, there has been a considerable decline in general crimes during this year. “A comprehensive analysis indicates that a total of 4048 cases registered during 2016 against 4864 cases in 2015. CBI chargesheeted DGP Nagraj continued his self-boasting bogus propagandas about Police success across Tripura where crime multiplied several times during his tenure. Due to manipulation by corrupt Nagraj and his officials, crime data looks down but actually its skyrocketed statewide.

"A detailed analysis further shows that property offences were downed by 17 %, crime against Women by 21 %, Bodily offences by 11 % and Motor accident cases by 14 % during 2016 as compared to previous year”,Nagraj added.

In terms of percentage over all registration of crime has down by 16 % during 2016 as compare to the previous year".

About women’s safety also he said same. “Multi-prolonged strategies were adopted to ensure Women Help line 1091….”.  “Crime against women have come down to 1044 in 2016 as compared to 1323 of 2015. However, prevention of CAW cases continues to be priority for Tripura Police”.

In Traffic management, peaceful conduct of elections. Prayaas, blood donation camp etc are doing very properly, claimed DGP.

‘Tripura police are doing excellent job in reducing crime, but we should not be complied with self-satisfaction. The day to day crime against women we need to bring at zero level’, said Nagraj. However, didn’t mention that whereas 75 % cases are dumped under filed in Tripura, due to lack of proper investigation and across the state unregistered cases are increasing day by day, DGP was boosting high about Police Achievements.
