AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): The New Year went well for the common people of Tripura, as it began with a holiday. But on the 1st Monday, the normal lives heavily disrupted due to traffic jam on National Highway at Nagerjala Bhishalgarh road. Although, it was said that during dry season the roads will be brought in full shape, but Tripura PWD officials are almost sleeping in this winter season and thus left the roads with with zero maintenance, resulting the condition of the roads becoming more miserable. Across the whole Agartala City the roads have become miserable but no action has been taken so far. Moreover, due to lack of maintenance, the roads which were in well-shape, has become worst including Jail-road area, Durgabari road, Airport road, Khayerpur road and many other roads.

Reportedly,  the NH-44 from Battala is in pathetic shape and in this situation the flyover workers are managing the construction work with a little space. Thus, the slow pace of construction and sluggish work by contractors have delayed the  fist flyover in the state, causing daily chaos in state.

However, for VIPs there is a separate line via Bordowali via which all Ministers go through in Agartala.

Due to the heavy traffic jam and hour-long waiting, on the 1st working day of the year have become troublesome for the office goers. The officials who come from Bishalgharh and via other ways, their agonies have no end.

Considering the construction of fly-over work which undergoing slowly at Battala-Bordowali area, and further coupled with limited road infrastructure and paucity of parking space, has been playing havoc with the traffic management in the city on Monday morning.

So for the travelers it is a Herculean task to cross the junction over the Howrah Bridge particularly during the peak hours due to gigantic traffic jam.

Apart from that the bad traffic management is initiating the more traffic jam here. Complain many time raised that insufficient number of traffic police is emerging more traffic jams day by day.
